About Salty Dog Game Fishing

Your fishing experience will always come first

Salty Dog UK: Bass Fishing

If you’re looking for the best place in the UK to go bass fishing, you’ve come to the right place. Established in 2010, Salty Dog is a friendly family owned business. Paul set up the business because he needed to be out on the water more often than not. This was a perfectly good excuse to buy a 23ft fishing vessel! Everyone needs a custom built Wilson Flyer, right? Seems like the rest is history as they say.

You will not find a more passionate guide to take you out in the Solent, and in addition, Paul’s knowledge and experience are extensive. He will happily share his know-how and also the best places to hunt for European Bass on the south coast of England. Therefore you can be assured that he will go the extra mile to find the prize; be it on fly or lure. Book here.

Salty Dog West Africa

Paul’s feet are always itching to travel, and what’s better than to use your passion to drive you. Being from South Africa originally, Paul has Africa in his blood. Furthermore, when the opportunity to travel to the unexplored western coast arose in 2010, the temptation was too strong to resist. This is how Salty Dog West Africa was born. Under the flag of Salty Dog, Paul has travelled to and fished the waters of, Gabon, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe and Liberia.

Salty Dog is proud to be a leader in mapping new exciting fishing locations and to find off the beaten track lodges. Consequently, we deliver an unforgettable fishing experience for the adventure angler. Furthermore, you can expect destinations untrampled by tourists, empty beaches, rustic lodges and brilliant fishing opportunities! Paul has made connections in West Africa on his travels, so using his contacts you can be assured of a tailored and personal experience throughout your trip. For more information, go here.

Salty Dog vessel

Salty Dog is a 23ft Wilson Flyer; we custom designed the interior layout with lockers and centre console. While she was built to be a workhorse with fly fishing in mind she has a very stable cathedral hull. This hull has been in production for over 30 years. A Dell Quay dory and an old style Boston Whaler form the basis for the hull-design. As a result, she’s perfect for a safe day’s fishing with loads of deck space.
